Who We Are (And Why We Refuse to Pick a Lane)

Ever been at a party where someone puts on a playlist that goes from soulful ballads to afrobeats to a dance banger, and you think, “Who hurt the person who made this?” That person is us. Welcome to Music Waves Project.

We are a musical collective that makes albums the way a toddler makes a sandwich: with reckless abandon, zero regard for rules, and a surprising amount of heart. Our debut album is a glorious mess of soul, afrobeats, ballads, and dance music. We don’t fit into a genre, and frankly, we think genres are just musical cages with fancy labels. We prefer to roam free, like a confused but very happy gazelle.

The Album: A Genre-Bending Rollercoaster

Picture this: You’re swaying to a tender, tear-jerking ballad. Suddenly, an afrobeat rhythm sneaks up behind you, taps you on the shoulder, and says, “Dance, you fool.” So you dance. Then, just as you’re getting your groove on, a soulful croon pulls you into a warm hug, and you’re back to feeling feelings. Then, BAM, a dance track kicks in and you’re sweating. That’s our album. It’s an emotional and physical workout.

We don’t have a genre. We have a vibe. A chaotic, beautiful, soulful, booty-shaking vibe.

Why “Music Waves”?

Because music isn’t one thing. It’s a wave. Sometimes it’s a gentle ripple (ballad), sometimes it’s a crashing surf (dance track), and sometimes it’s a mysterious undercurrent that pulls you somewhere unexpected (afrobeats-soul fusion). We ride all the waves. Bring your surfboard. Or your tissues. Or both.

Our Promise to You

We promise you will never, ever be bored. You will laugh, you might cry, you will definitely want to move your body. You will also confuse your music-snob friend who asks, “But what kind of music is it?” You can simply smile and say, “It’s ours.”
